Tablet access

Turn it on and pair a device

WhereSettings > Tablet access.

   Switch on Allow tablet access. X-Dispatch starts a local server on your computer. It is off by default.

   On the tablet, open the camera and scan the QR code, or type the address shown next to it into the browser. Copy link puts the address on the clipboard if you want to send it to the device.

   The tablet and the computer must be on the same Wi-Fi or network.

• The address includes a pairing token, so only devices with the QR code or the link can connect.
• Add the page to the tablet home screen for a full-screen app without the browser bars.

What works on the tablet

• The map runs smoothly on the tablet with the same layers, airports, flight plan, SimBrief briefing and Flight Strip readouts as on the desktop.
• Actions that need the desktop, such as file dialogs, add-on installs and launching X-Plane, are shown disabled on the tablet.
• The desktop app must stay open. It is the one talking to X-Plane.

Devices, pairing and port

WhereSettings > Tablet access.

• Connected devices lists every device currently connected, with Disconnect all.
• Reset pairing invalidates the old link. Every device has to scan again.
• Change the port if another program already uses 8480 (any port from 1024 to 65535). Devices need to scan again after a change.
• A computer with more than one network shows the other addresses it is reachable at under the QR code.
• Windows asks to allow X-Dispatch through the firewall the first time you turn this on. Allow it for private networks.
