What we collect, and your choices.

X-Dispatch is a hobby project. We collect a little usage data to see what people use. This is all of it.

  • No ads, no tracking pixels, no third-party fonts or widgets.
  • We never sell or share your data.

The website

x-dispatch.app serves the pages and sees standard request data (IP, browser) to deliver them.

dl.x-dispatch.app hosts the installers and update checks. We count downloads per day, version, OS and country. No IPs are kept.

Website analytics measures site usage, only if you accept the cookie banner: cookies, page views, clicks and session replays with form fields hidden. If you decline, visits, clicks on download, donate and Discord links, and language changes are counted anonymously without cookies. Run by an EU-hosted analytics provider; IPs are discarded. Change your choice under Cookie settings in the footer.

Crash reports in the app

In the desktop app, crash reports are on by default to help fix bugs.

A crash report contains the error and where it happened in the code, recent app log lines, OS version, CPU architecture and app version. When something goes wrong, a short replay of the interface is attached with all text masked. Never flight data or SimBrief and VATSIM logins.

Turn them off in Settings → Support.

Usage statistics in the app

Usage statistics are off unless you say yes when the app asks on first launch.

If you agree, the app sends which features, settings and flight options you use, how the app runs (startup time, window size, errors), plus app and X-Plane version, OS and region. Tied to a random install ID, never to you. No file paths, typed names, SimBrief ID or IP address. Events travel through our own domain to an EU-hosted analytics service.

Turn it off in Settings → Support. That stops sending and deletes the install ID.

Services the app contacts

To show live data, the app also talks directly to these services. Each one sees your IP address and the request it answers, under its own privacy policy. We are not in the middle and receive nothing from them.

  • Map tiles from CARTO, OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap, satellite imagery from Esri, terrain from Mapterhorn, and cloud and weather imagery from NASA and EUMETSAT.
  • METARs from aviationweather.gov and VATSIM, and North Atlantic tracks from the FAA.
  • The public VATSIM and IVAO live feeds, only while those layers are on.
  • SimBrief, when you import a flight plan: your SimBrief username or pilot ID goes to SimBrief to fetch your own plan. We never see it.
  • The X-Plane Scenery Gateway for airport data. X-Plane itself is only ever reached on your own computer.
  • dl.x-dispatch.app, asked on start for the latest version. Counted the same way as downloads, with no IPs kept.
