SimBrief
X-Dispatch fetches your latest SimBrief flight plan, shows the whole briefing in one screen, draws the route on the map with the vertical profile, and writes the plan into the folders your add-on aircraft read from.
Set up your SimBrief account
WhereSettings > SimBrief.
- 01
Open Settings > SimBrief and enter your SimBrief username (the Navigraph alias you sign in with) or your numeric Pilot ID. Both work.
- 02
Press Test to check it, then Save.
- 03
No account yet? SimBrief is free at simbrief.com.
- The Pilot ID is under simbrief.com > Account Settings if you prefer it.
- A link of the form xdispatch://simbrief with your username sets this up in one click.
Import the latest plan
WhereFlight Plan > SimBrief in the toolbar, File > Import from SimBrief, or Cmd+Shift+I / Ctrl+Shift+I.
- 01
Generate or update the flight on simbrief.com first.
- 02
Open Flight Plan > SimBrief. X-Dispatch fetches your latest OFP and shows when it was generated and which AIRAC cycle it uses, next to Refresh.
- 03
Press Import flight plan to load it into the planner and onto the map.
- Refresh fetches again after you change the plan on SimBrief.
- The header links to both airports. Click an ICAO to jump to its layout.
- The planner, the vertical profile and the flight plan bar work the same for a SimBrief plan as for one you built yourself.
The briefing
WhereSimBrief dialog.
The briefing is one screen with the same height whichever tab you pick. The route and the Import button sit at the top, then four tabs.
- Route: the route string, the vertical profile and the navlog with altitude, wind, ground speed and Mach, real ETAs and fuel remaining per fix. Hover the profile and the navlog scrolls to that fix.
- Fuel & weights: block, trip, reserve, alternate and extra fuel; zero fuel, takeoff and landing weights against their maximums.
- Performance: the aircraft and performance figures from the OFP.
- Weather & NOTAMs: departure, destination and alternate METAR and TAF, and the NOTAMs.
- Fuel and weights follow your unit settings, whatever units your SimBrief account uses.
- Open full OFP (PDF) opens the SimBrief document in your browser.
On the map
WhereMap and the flight card after import.
- The SimBrief route draws like a planned route: the SID, STAR, airways and oceanic tracks in their own colours, starting and ending at the airports.
- The flight card on the map is a summary: route, alternate, time, cruise level, block fuel and takeoff weight, with one button to the full briefing. Collapsed, it still shows the flight number, the route and the cruise level.
- The taxi planner suggests a route to your SimBrief departure runway once you pick a gate.
Send to FMS
WhereSend to FMS button in the briefing footer; targets under Settings > SimBrief.
- 01
Under Settings > SimBrief press Add target. Choose the format your aircraft expects and the folder it reads from. Formats include the default X-Plane 12 and X-Plane 11 .fms, ToLiss, Zibo 737, FlightFactor, IXEG, JARDesign, Level-D, PMDG, Inibuilds, MilViz and more.
- 02
In the briefing, open Send to FMS. Each target is one menu entry, with Send all when you have several.
- 03
Load the plan in the aircraft's FMS the way that add-on expects (usually Co Rte or the FMS plans list).
- With no target set up, the menu takes you to Settings.
- Flight setup can fill payload and fuel from the OFP.
When SimBrief says no
WhereMessage in the SimBrief dialog.
- Unknown user: the username or Pilot ID is wrong. Check it under Settings > SimBrief and press Test.
- No plan on file: generate a flight on simbrief.com first, then Refresh.
- No connection: X-Dispatch is offline. The banner under the title bar shows when that is the case.
- With no SimBrief account set up, the briefing has a button straight to the SimBrief settings.
